Body recovered from Platte River confirmed to be teen who went missing near Fremont
FREMONT, Neb. (WOWT) - The body of a missing teenager has been recovered from the Platte River. The mother of 17-year-old Jackson Potter confirmed to 6 News Thursday night his body was found near Sokol Camp, south of Valley in Douglas County. Authorities had been searching for Potter after he was swept away by the raging waters of the Platte south of Fremont Sunday night.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The FBI said Friday that they had identified the man they were looking for in connection with a child sex exploitation case. Putting out a news bulletin on June 26, FBI Omaha had been looking for a man they called “John Doe 48,” who they believed had information about the identity of “a child victim in an ongoing sexual exploitation case.”

Omaha man sentenced for possessing stolen mail, identity theft
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Below is a list of sentences handed down in federal court Wednesday in the District of Nebraska, as provided by U.S. Attorney Susan T. Lehr’s office. Michael B. Emmanuel, 37, of Omaha, was sentenced to 41 months in prison for possession of stolen mail and unauthorized use of access devices, plus a mandatory consecutive two years for aggravated identity theft.
