(Elkhorn, NE) - It was another masterful pitching performance from Cohen Nelson on Saturday afternoon to lead the charge for Grand Island Home Federal to pick up a first-round state tournament win over Omaha Westside by a final score of 2-0. Nelson would go 5 1/3 innings on the mound on 105 pitches and would ring up 14 Westside batters. GI would get an out from relief pitcher Ethan Coslor in the 6th and Gabe Ruiz would come in and close out the game in the bottom of the seventh.
