Jones County Teacher Arrested for Sending Messages to Student
A middle school gym teacher in Jones County has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor for conversations he had with a 15-year-old student ten years ago. CBS2 reports that court records show now 50-year-old Wayne Lasack, a gym teacher in the Anamosa Community School District, reached out to a teenager on Facebook in 2014. The message stated that he wanted to see a "naughty picture" of her. She stated that she was not interested and the conversation ended. CBS2 reports that the messages were sent anonymously to the Anamosa Community School District in 2018 and were reported to police.

Police officers arrested an Anamosa gym teacher about a decade after he was accused of sending inappropriate messages to a female student. 50-year-old Wayne LaSack faces one count of sexual exploitation of a minor. There was an investigation into the 2014 incident four years later, but the principal believed the accusation by the 15-year-old girl was unfounded after LaSack denied the conversation and implied his now ex-wife sent the messages. The complaint says screenshots of the messages surfaced again this year along with additional information. Police interviewed LaSack, his ex-wife and the now former student, resulting in the arrest and new charges.
