Nove Mesto World Cup Practice Highlights

On Thursday, XC pros began taking their first laps of the course at the World Cup in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic.

The Nove Mesto course will have technical climbs, rocky descents, and an iconic stairset section.

Riders preride the course to familiarize themself with different lines on the course. The best XC racers are skilled at knowing when to attack or pass other riders, which requires intimate knowledge of the course.

Perhaps the wildest section is the long rock garden, where riders have to choose from many equally rough lines across the hillside. How the racers ride it so quickly on SHIRT travel bikes is beyond comprehension.
