Update: Berks County under a flash flood warning Monday morning
An updated flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 4:32 a.m. in effect until 7:30 a.m. for Berks County. "At 4:32 a.m., Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1.5 to 2.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," according to the weather service. "This includes Interstate 176 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 3 and 11."
Albright College Appoints Inaugural Dean of School of Business and Professional Studies
Veteran professor, Lisa Wilder, Ph.D., has been appointed dean of the School of Business and Professional Studies at Albright College. Wilder joined the Albright economics faculty in 2001 and has served as chair of the Department of Business, Accounting, and Economics for three terms. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Environmental Protection Agency is awarding $4.3 billion in grants to fund projects in 30 states to reduce climate pollution. The money will go to 25 projects targeting greenhouse gas emissions from transportation, electric power, commercial and residential buildings, industry, agriculture and waste and materials management.
