When I moved to Madison, Wisconsin, in 2005 for grad school, I came from a small private liberal arts college of only about 1,000 students. Three new projects aimed at Madison child care shortage, costs
If you have kids or know someone who does, you probably know that child care can cost more than college, and that the price tag has been rising rapidly. Data released this week by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families shows that from 2022 to 2023, the cost of care in Wisconsin rose between 11% and 14% on average, depending on the type of provider. That’s more than double the 4.9% inflation rate.
