Evening racing highlighted at Bloomfield
Bloomfield, IA – Fair goers filled the grandstand at Bloomfield, Iowa to partake in the thrill of the evening card of harness racing on Wednesday (July 17). With carnival rides in the backdrop, two-year-old trotters took the track for the first race. As the gate folded, Aqua Marie Pak (Marion “Jake” Saner) quickly took the lead, with Wind Slammer (Chad Svendsen) dropping into second and Twilight Ranger (Adam Hauser) sitting third. As they followed Aqua Marie Pak to the half, taking advantage of Wind Slammer becoming rough gaited, Twilight Ranger took up the pocket. Racing to the top of the lane, the top three horses looked for the line. Charging to the finish, Twilight Ranger gained command when Aqua Marie Pak went off stride. Twilight Ranger picked up his first lifetime win, trotting in 2:23.3.
