RAGBRAI 2024 daily planner: Route, mileage and highlights along the way
DES MOINES, Iowa — The world's longest, oldest, and largest recreational bicycle ride is back for its 51st trek across the state of Iowa. This year's version of RAGBRAI — the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa — departs from Glenwood on Sunday, July 21, and ends 434 miles later in Burlington on Saturday, July 27. In between, there will be overnight stops at Red Oak, Atlantic, Winterset, Knoxville, Ottumwa and Mount Pleasant, with plenty to eat, drink, do and see along the way.

Drought almost completely gone in Missouri
The drought in Missouri is almost completely gone, thanks to recent heavy rains. The latest drought monitor map shows only a small oval-shaped area of abnormally dry conditions that covers parts of Newton, Jasper, Barry, and Lawrence counties in southwestern Missouri. Pettis County man sentenced to 20 years in prison for molesting two children
A Pettis County man is headed to prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing two minor children. Marlon Lange, of Green Ridge, pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of third-degree child molestation.
