Shreveport man arrested for reportedly punching officer after being asked to leave casino
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — A Shreveport man faces charges after reportedly punching a police officer after being asked to leave the premises of a downtown casino. Police say it happened July 21 around 11:45 p.m. Officers were called out to a casino in the 300 block of Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway to help casino security personnel with a man who was refusing to leave. When officers got there, they tried to de-escalate the situation; however, the man punched one of the officers, police say.
Shreveport man awaiting trial for child molestation faces more charges
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — A Shreveport man awaiting trial faces additional charges. According to a media release from the Shreveport Police Department, 43-year-old Cortez Lane. Lane, who is currently awaiting trial for molestation of a juvenile, is now facing an additional charge of second-degree rape for an unrelated matter.
Collision on Buncombe Road leaves 3 injured
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Three people were transported to an area hospital after a wreck in Shreveport Saturday (July 20). Around 5 p.m., emergency units from Caddo Fire District 3 and Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a wreck on Buncombe Road. A sedan had hit the back of a large flatbed truck, causing significant damage to the front end of the sedan.

Shreveport Police have arrested 21 year-old DeAndre Washington for numerous offenses following a traffic stop that began at Jewella Avenue and Hollywood Avenue. Washington refused to stop, leading officers on a chase that ended with his arrest in the 3900 block of Liaison Drive.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — A Caddo grand jury recently indicted five people, including four on charges of second-degree murder. The panel formally charged 27-year-old Michael Keith McKnight with two counts of second-degree murder and 37-year-old Lederrick Dewayne Gant, of Shreveport, 40-year-old Shemika Draper Johnson and 44-year-old Keelon Bernard Nelson with one count each of second-degree murder.
