With the relatively recent rise to stardom of several locals, we began to ponder what would be left in country music if it weren't for Shreveport and the Arklatex?. Just over the last few years, we've added the likes of Jordan Davis from Shreveport, Lainey Wilson from Baskin, La. (I realize that's a little bit of a stretch from us, but it's just over 100 miles) and most recently, we've been entertained with the debut single "We Ride" from Logansport's own Bryan Martin.

4 indicted on murder charges; another charged with rape
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — A Caddo grand jury recently indicted five people, including four on charges of second-degree murder. The panel formally charged 27-year-old Michael Keith McKnight with two counts of second-degree murder and 37-year-old Lederrick Dewayne Gant, of Shreveport, 40-year-old Shemika Draper Johnson and 44-year-old Keelon Bernard Nelson with one count each of second-degree murder.
