Lifelong Natchitoches resident celebrates 100th birthday
Family and friends gathered to celebrate the 100th birthday for lifelong Natchitoches resident Laura Lavespere Saturday on July 20. She’s lived in the City of Lights since she was a teenager. She worked for years at Northwestern State University as a controller for approximately 30 years. She later worked at Gwen’s Ladies Wear until she retired to babysit her only granddaughter. She was married to Eugene Lavespere Sr. until his death in 1998. She has one son, Eugene Lavespere Jr.

SHREVEPORT, LA- Man Arrested After Fleeing from SPD. Shreveport Police have arrested 21 year-old DeAndre Washington for numerous offenses following a traffic stop that began at Jewella Avenue and Hollywood Avenue. Washington refused to stop, leading officers on a chase that ended with his arrest in the 3900 block of Liaison Drive.
