While the Indiana fever took an 88-69 loss to the Las Vegas Aces on July2, the team still had a lot to celebrate. The WNBA named three Fever players to the 12-player All-Star team, Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston.

The All-Star team is decided by a combination of votes by fans (50%), current WNBA players (25%) and a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters (25 %). However, the final tally of fan votes left fans stunned.

While Clark unsurprisingly topped the leaderboard with 700,735 votes,  Boston came in second place with 618,680 votes. Boston knocking Aces MVP A'ja Wilson (607,300 votes) to third place came as a huge surprise.

One fan posted , ""Boston being ahead of A’ja is shocking." Another person wrote , "Clark effect." One woman commented , "Boston above da MV3 kinda crazy ngl even CC B4 her is wild lol."

Boston, the WNBA's 2023 Rookie of the Year. was thrilled to make her second consecutive All-Star team. Boston posted after the league announced the roster, "God is Amazing!! So blessed to be a 2x all star thanks to everyone for the support so far!!"

The last time the Fever had three players in the All-Star game was in 2007. Boston told reporters, "I think it just goes to show the talent that we have on this team.

"It's really amazing to be able to play together as an All-Star, but also I think this is really exciting for Caitlin being a rookie coming in and just having an impact the way that she does."

While Mitchell didn't land in the Top 5 of fans votes, this marks her second consecutive year being named to the All-Star squad.
