A Walland father and son face numerous felony charges after a reported fight with Blount County Sheriff’s deputies.

Joseph Shane Todd, 38, Cold Springs Road, was charged with criminal conspiracy, assault against a first responder as well as offenses including resisting arrest. Gage Hunter Todd, his son, 18, Cold Springs Road, has been charged with resisting arrest and assault against a first responder.

According to the police report, a BCSO deputy went to Cold Springs Road on April 3 to serve a warrant for Vida Elizabeth Clack, 28. Upon arrival, he found Clack sitting outside the residence. The deputy said they could hear a man inside the residence and asked her if it was Joseph Todd, whom he said BCSO knew to have an active felony warrant.

Clack confirmed that Todd was inside, according to the report. The deputy said the man identified as Joseph Todd then opened the door. The deputy added that they then saw a third person inside, later identified as Gage Todd.

According to the report, while the deputy was speaking with Joseph Todd, Clack ran inside the residence. When the deputy attempted to follow her, Joseph Clack allegedly kicked the deputy and attempted to close the door, assisted by Gage Todd.

The deputy called for backup, and after a few minutes, Joseph Todd opened the door and asked to see a paper warrant, according to the report. The deputy reported he told Joseph Todd they do not carry paper warrants.

While Joseph Todd was still in the doorway, several deputies entered the residence in order to arrest the three individuals. While deputies were attempting to place Joseph Todd under arrest, Gage Todd allegedly punched one of the deputies in the face. A deputy tackled Gage Todd to the ground, the report states. Allegedly, during his arrest, Gage Todd bit the deputy in the arm and “gouged his eyes.”

Reportedly, Joseph Todd attacked the deputy who tackled Gage Todd and a different deputy struck Joseph Todd in the face. The report states Joseph Todd pushed one of the deputies, causing the deputy to fall and the body camera to fall off.

Deputies shocked Gage Todd and Joseph Todd with Tasers, the report states. Deputies said the Taser caused Joseph Todd to fall to the ground but he allegedly pulled the probes out.

While deputies attempted to arrest Joseph Todd, he continued to resist, the report said, and yelled obscenities at the deputies. Deputies used a stun gun and knee strikes against Joseph Todd. According to the report, Joseph Todd grabbed the stun gun and attempted to take it from the deputy’s hands.

The report states that Joseph Todd kicked one of the deputies in the chin and was then dragged outside, where the deputies were able to apprehend him.

Joseph Todd was taken to Blount Memorial Hospital and then to the University of Tennessee before being taken to Blount County Correctional Facility for injuries he received while resisting arrest, the report states.

Gage Todd was taken directly to the Blount County Correctional Facility.

During the reported altercation, police state Clack left the area but was later found at a different location and arrested.

Clack was charged with criminal conspiracy, evading arrest and manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of methamphetamine. She was released on bonds totaling $55,000 pending a 9 a.m. April 8 hearing and a 9:00 a.m. April 15 hearing.

Gage Hunter Todd was being held in lieu of bonds totaling $15,000 pending a 9 a.m. April 8 hearing.

Joseph was being held in lieu of bonds totaling $65,000 pending a 9:00 a.m. April 8 hearing.
