Springfield Man Arrested After Disturbance in Courthouse Parking Lot
Jacksonville Police arrested a man after a physical disturbance in the parking lot of the Morgan County Courthouse yesterday morning. Officers responded to the west parking lot of the courthouse just before 10:30 yesterday morning after several subjects were reported to be yelling at each other by Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputies.
JPD Investigating Shots Fired Near Downtown Jacksonville
Jacksonville Police are investigating another shots fired incident near Downtown Jacksonville from overnight. Officers reported hearing shots fired near Central Park Plaza at 12:51AM. Evidence was collected and shots were determined to be in the vicinity of South East Street and East Beecher Avenue. No property damage was reported in police reports this morning. No injuries were reported. The incident is pending further investigation.

Crime Stoppers Seeking Tips on East Morton Storage Shed Burglary
Crime Stoppers of Morgan, Scott, and Cass counties are requesting information to assist the Jacksonville Police Department in a recent investigation of a burglary. Sometime between 7PM on July 3rd and 5PM on July 5th, unknown individuals damaged a door to a storage shed located in the 900 block of East Morton Avenue. Upon entry, several items were taken including a DeWalt circular saw.

Fourth Individual Charged For February Armed Robbery Sentenced
The fourth individual charged for an armed robbery on Jacksonville’s east end in February has pleaded guilty to robbery charges. 28-year old Michael E. Trowbridge of the 300 block of South Clay Avenue pleaded guilty yesterday in Morgan County Circuit Court to Class 2 felony robbery. Charges of armed robbery and possession of methamphetamine were dropped per the plea.
