Two rough innings lead to Red Sox's 7-4 loss to Rangers

On Saturday night, the Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers met again at Globe Life Field for the second game of the series, and Alex Cora's squad was handed a 7-4 loss.

Boston's arms weren't great in this game. Starter Tanner Houck allowed six runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out seven in his five innings of work. Brennan Bernardino followed that up by allowing one earned run on three hits and a walk over one inning. Cooper Criswell tossed scoreless seventh and eighth innings.

They only allowed runs in the fourth (four) and in the sixth (three).

The Red Sox's offense wasn't great either, as they could not capitalize on their opportunities. Three of their runs were driven in by outfielder Rob Refsnyder (4-for-4; two solo home runs and an RBI double) and Connor Wong (1-for-4; RBI single to score Rafael Devers). Ceddanne Rafaela (2-for-4) was the only member of the lineup besides Refsnyder who recorded multiple hits.

They left 10 men on base, including leaving the bases loaded in the eighth inning.

This loss drops Boston to 58-51 on the season and 31-23 away from Fenway Park. The two teams will meet again for the series finale with one team taking the set on Sunday.
