Bohacuk scored a knockdown in the first round that was originally ruled a slip, but overturned by replay at the beginning for the fifth round. Bohachuk knocked Ortiz down again in the eighth round, but Ortiz stormed back in the round to hurt Bohachuk, while landing 16 power punches to Bohachuk’s 11. Over rounds eight through twelve, Ortiz out-landed Bohachuk 112 to 89. In the championship rounds, Ortiz landed 56 punches to Bohachuk’s 40. One judge scored the fight a 113-113 draw, while the other two judges scored the fight 114-112 for the new WBC Interim World Super Welterweight Champion, Vergil Ortiz.
