Sake Japanese Steak House is now open in the space previously occupied by Bar Louie. The restaurant is currently in its soft opening phase and taking reservations. Montgomery County Restaurant Owner Named ‘Regarding Her’ Scholar, Receives $5,000 Grant
Twenty woman-owned restaurants and other food-related retail ventures in the Washington, DC and Los Angeles areas, learned today that they will receive $5,000 grants, and potentially even more valuable mentoring and training from leaders in the industry, to help their businesses thrive. This includes Montgomery County’s very own Scratch Kitchen in Olney.
Kapow Buddy opening at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda
Is coming soon to Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. It's the latest in a long line of Chipotle-style fast-casual bowl restaurants. This time, the theme cuisine is Thai. Your imagination will suggest to you that a grain base will be loaded with vegetables, proteins, and Thai cuisine toppings, and - incredibly - your hunch is correct. In fact, Westfield says in its promotion of the restaurant that "Kapow Buddy is eager to introduce their famous Thai food in the 'Bowl Style' to offer customers a variety of choices including grains, proteins, toppings, and more." When it opens, look for Kapow Buddy on Level 1 in the Old Navy wing.
Leesburg’s Ashby Mae Children’s Boutique Set to Close
After eight years in business, Ashby Mae Children’s Boutique announced on social media that the store will close by the end of summer. Owner Debbie Thomas is closing her business because she is retiring. An official closing date will be set in the coming weeks but the boutique will be holding a retirement sale before then.
