NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Three people from New Haven County are facing federal charges after being accused of trafficking fentanyl and cocaine.

The trio — 35-year-old Jermaine Moneeth, 37-year-old Luis Rodriguez and 27-year-old Ashley Cordova — sold drugs to investigators between February and July 2024, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. Moneeth is from New Haven, and Rodriguez and Cardova are from Branford.

They sold fentanyl that was laced with xylazine and cocaine, according to a federal announcement. They were arrested on July 12. The same day, investigators seized more than $97,000 in cash, drug ledgers, scales and packaging items from their homes.

They have all been charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of, fentanyl. If convicted, each charges could lead up to two decades in prison.

Rodriguez, Monteeth and Cordova pleaded not guilty on Tuesday. Rodriguez remains in custody. The others have been released on $100,000 bonds.
