Fatal crash shuts down both directions of Airline Highway in St. Rose
ST. ROSE, La. (WVUE) - A major crash in St. Rose on Monday (July 22) morning has resulted in one or more traffic fatalities, according to state police. Airline Highway was shut down in both directions at I-310 St. Rose Ave as state police say they are conducting a fatal crash investigation. They have not confirmed how many deaths there were on the scene at this time.

NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans Police are asking for the public's assistance with locating a suspect wanted for simple robbery and attempted robbery. Wanted is Carey Lewis Tanks. According to investigators, Tanks committed the crime of simple robbery at a business in the 7500 block of Bullard Avenue on July 16 and committed an attempted simple robbery at a business in the 6300 block of Chef Menteur Highway on July 11, 2024.
Man shot dead in 7th Ward home identified by New Orleans coroner
A man who was killed in a recent New Orleans shooting was identified Monday morning by the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office. Eric Gary, 50, was shot and killed in a 7th Ward home in the 1400 block of North Claiborne Avenue last Wednesday, according to the New Orleans Police Department. When New Orleans police responded to the call at 2:19 a.m., they found Gary with multiple gunshot wounds.

Accused house swindler charged with attempted murder, pleads not guilty
NEW ORLEANS — A man accused of stealing houses from at least seven different people using forged or fabricated deeds pled not guilty to attempted murder Monday for allegedly shooting a man in a February drive-by. Police allege Jonathan Burden pulled up in a car alongside a man who was friends with Burden’s ex-girlfriend and shot him in the right shoulder. The man alleged Burden fired about 10 shots into his car at about 7:30 p.m. February 1 and hit him once. The man, who did not want to be identified, said he was lucky to be alive.
