Pro Football Hall Of Famer Lawrence Taylor Arrested Again

Pro Football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor was arrested again this week for an incident related to his prior sex offender violation charge nearly three years prior, TMZ Sports reported.

Taylor, 65, surrendered to police in Broward County on Wednesday (July 17) on one count of failure to report name or residence change as a sex offender and was released early Thursday (July 18) morning. Attorney Mark Eiglarsh , who represents Taylor, maintained his client's innocence in a statement to TMZ Sports .

“My client, Lawrence Taylor, will be pleading ‘Not Guilty’ to the recent charges,” Eiglarsh said. “As with the previous incident involving the same allegations, Mr. Taylor did not knowingly commit any criminal offense. This situation is a significant misunderstanding. We are confident that, once the prosecutors review the exculpatory evidence demonstrating Mr. Taylor’s innocence, he will once again achieve a favorable outcome.”

Taylor pled guilty to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute after being accused of having sex with a 16-year-old girl, whom he claimed had told him was 19 at the time, in 2011. The two-time Super Bowl champion was later arrested for not notifying authorities of his arrest change in 2021, which he claimed was a "mix-up."

Taylor pled no contest to residency restriction for persons convicted of certain sex offenses, which was reduced to a lesser charge. The Hall of Famer had previously been arrested for drug charges after the conclusion of his playing career, as well as a DUI charge in 2016.
