PARIS — Chloé Dygert, a Brownsburg native and member of the U.S. women’s cycling team, won the bronze medal in the Olympic women’s cycling time trial event on Saturday.

Dygert is a world champion in two different women’s cycling events — the individual pursuit, which takes place on the track, and the time trial, which takes place on the road.

In 2020, she faced a dangerous crash in Italy that tore her quadriceps and nearly stripped away her career. Luckily, she overcame this, but faced an injury to her Achilles tendon and a COVID-19 diagnosis earlier this year.

During Saturday’s time trial, Dygert reportedly crashed into a corner, which resulted in her slipping to third place. She was beaten by Anna Henderson from Great Britain for the silver medal and Grace Brown from Australia for the gold medal.
