Brownwood crash investigation to close portion of Austin Avenue

BROWNWOOD, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) – A crash investigation will close a section of Austin Avenue in Brownwood on Thursday afternoon.

On July 25, at 1:00 p.m., Austin Avenue will be closed between the intersections of Beaver and Bailey Streets while Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers conduct a crash investigation.

The investigation is expected to take two hours, and the road will reopen once it’s completed.

Eastbound traffic will be directed southeast on Beaver, then to Bailey Street for one block, where traffic will rejoin Austin Avenue. Westbound traffic will travel in the opposite direction.

Truck traffic is advised to choose an alternative route instead of taking the detour, as the narrow intersections in the residential area make it difficult to navigate.

When driving in or near this closure and detour route, please follow road signs, including speed limits, avoid distractions, and be patient.
