Falls Township is Currently Reviewing Options for Estate with William Penn Ties

Falls Township is currently weighing options for what to do with a home built in the late 1600s. Ella Castronuovo wrote about the home and its potential sale for the Bucks County Courier Times.

Three Arches Historic Home, a 300-year-old residence with ties to William Penn, was put on the market for potential buyers back in February. Heads of the township are hoping that new buyers will use the historic home for tours and school trips.

Originally built in 1684. the house was owned by friends of William Penn, who visited the estate.

“Given the historic nature of the property it is not as easy to sell as a traditional residential property,” said spokeswoman Theresa Katalinas.

Renovations to the old Bucks County estate are being made while the township looks for a new owner. Official are continuing to search for a new owner that will use the estate for educational purposes.

“It’s a shame to see a piece of our township’s history essentially closed to the public,” said Falls Supervisors Chairman Jeff Dence.
