LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) A La Crosse couple is giving kids new ways to play. Playgrounds of La Crosse is a 17,000-square-foot space filled with a racetrack, ninja warrior course, and much more. There will also be a cafe serving food and coffee, and a space for parents to relax.
Jury Convicts Woman on Felony Charge For Fleeing Rochester Police
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Twin Cities area woman has been found guilty of a felony charge connected to a vehicle pursuit in Rochester two years ago. 31-year-old Mickela Joy Vrendenburg was charged last year after she allegedly fled from Rochester police officers in September 2022 when they went to a Rochester address associated with her to serve a felony arrest warrant and observed a vehicle leaving the residence with a malfunctioning taillight. An officer then attempted to stop the vehicle, but Vrenenburg kept driving and allegedly accelerated to around 50 mph in a residential area of southeast Rochester.
JUST IN: Worker dies in industrial accident at Del Monte Foods
A 43-year-old man died Friday while working at Del Monte Foods in Plover, officials confirmed. Rescue crews were called at about 4:45 p.m. Aug. 23 to the factory at 1400 Plover Road. According to a Point Plover Metro Wire report, a 911 caller told dispatchers that a man was seriously injured after his head struck a train rail.
Trial for Madeline Kingsbury’s Alleged Killer Moved from Winona to New Minnesota Location!
WINONA, MN – Adam Fravel, charged with the murder of Madeline Kingsbury, will now face trial starting October 7 in Blue Earth County. The trial was relocated from Winona County, Minnesota by order of Judge Nancy Buytendorp, who determined that Blue Earth County would offer the necessary impartiality for a fair trial. MILWAUKEE- A late summer heatwave is on the way to Southeast Wisconsin this weekend and into early next week. Mostly sunny conditions Saturday coupled with rising humidity and a high temp in the mid 80s will lead to overnight showers that may linger into Sunday morning. Temperatures continue to rise Sunday with a high in the upper 80s. Starting on Monday, temps really rise into the 90s with a heat index that could reach triple digits. That heatwave will linger into midweek before temps normalize into the 80s on Wednesday.

Town of Washington Board of Supervisors Approves Village Petition
The Town of Washington Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve the petition to incorporate part of the town as a village. Town officials announced that they would pursue the change earlier this year following annexations by the City of Eau Claire and the City of Altoona. The controversial annexations led to plans for the Orchard Hills and Whitetail Woods housing developments, causing residents to worry about the increase in population and traffic as well as overall changes to their neighborhoods.
