A front-row seat to river technology for combat
FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. – An Army combat unit will practice building a collapsible pontoon bridge across the Army Corps dredging base at Fountain City in August. The exercise will be spectacle with heavy construction equipment, bridge erection boats, rafts and giant over-road bridge transporters. The Corps invited the public to watch albeit from a safe distance. The 652nd Multi-Role Bridge Company of Hammond, Wisconsin, will be conducting the exercise. The unit’s mission in combat is to overcome river and bog obstacles for friendly troops, tanks, heavy equipment and supply convoys where bridges have been destroyed or never existed. The exercise will run August 9 to 11. The public boat ramp in Fountain City will be closed.
Group alleges discrimination after being denied service at Waunakee business
WAUNAKEE, Wis. (WMTV) - A group of men from the South who were traveling through Wisconsin captured a video of a Waunakee business refusing to serve them. David Grisham says he and four of his friends stopped at a Waunakee restaurant on their way back from the Republican National Convention. He says while trying to buy a meal, they were turned away.

2 dead in listeria outbreak likely linked to sliced deli meats
Two people have died in a listeria outbreak across 12 states in the U.S. that is likely linked to sliced deli meats, according to the CDC. In total, 28 people have been infected and hospitalized with the disease as of Friday in an outbreak that began in May, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

New opportunities and restrictions ahead of gun deer season
(WJFW)- During the gun deer season last fall hunters killed roughly 14% fewer bucks and 27% fewer does in northern Wisconsin compared to the last 5 year average. The natural resources board met in Green Bay and unanimously approved certain recommendations for the 2024 deer season. Certain counties will have new restrictions and new opportunities.
Packers' AJ Dillon and wife launch foundation to combat hunger in Northeast Wisconsin
LITTLE CHUTE (WLUK) -- Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon and his wife, Gabrielle, have launched The Dillon Family Foundation to tackle hunger in our area. The couple partnered with Feeding America in order to help as many people as possible. The foundation kicked off Thursday afternoon, packing 375 meals to be delivered to families across Northeast Wisconsin.
