Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) – While we’ve known the first three games of the 2024-25 regular season, the National Hockey League released on Tuesday the entire schedule of games for the upcoming campaign of hockey for the Buffalo Sabres.

It was announced a while back that Buffalo would open its season on Friday, Oct. 4 and Saturday, Oct. 5 in Czechia against the New Jersey Devils at O2 Arena in Prague. That kicks off the NHL regular season schedule as part of the NHL Global Series .

After flying back home from Prague, the Sabres will then open their home portion of the schedule on Thursday, Oct. 10 against the Los Angeles Kings . Before heading on the road for the first time, the Sabres will have one more home game on Saturday, Oct. 12 when they host the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.

Wednesday, Oct. 16 begins the first road trip of the season with three games in four days against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets and Chicago Blackhawks.

Buffalo’s "bye week" this season comes again in February when the team’s off from Feb. 9 through Feb. 21. That's also when the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament is being held. Chances are good that defenseman Rasmus Dahlin will be playing for Team Sweden in the tournament.

There's no NHL All-Star Game this season.

The Sabres' longest homestand comes in December when they play five games against the Colorado Avalanche, Winnipeg Jets, Utah Hockey Club, Detroit Red Wings and New York Rangers.

Buffalo has a total of four four-game road trips this season, with each of those trips seeing games out West, in some capacity. This will include the Sabres' first visit to Utah as part of a four-game stretch in mid-March. They will face the Hockey Club on Thursday, March 20 with a 9 p.m. ET faceoff.

The Sabres only have Saturday off on three occasions all season. Of the 24 games on Saturday, six of them will be featured in the afternoon on home ice. Another three road games will be played in the afternoon on Saturday this season.

Buffalo will end its season with a pair of home games, the first being on Tuesday, April 15 against the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the last being on Thursday, April 17 against the Philadelphia Flyers.
