On Thursday, August 28, 2024, at 9:11 p.m., Joliet Police Officers responded to the 300 block of Western Avenue for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, Officers learned that a shooting had just taken place near the parking lot of the Western Food Mart (Cuddy Store – 308 Western Avenue). Officers located two shooting victims nearby in the 300 block of Bluff Street. It was discovered that a 17-year-old male had sustained a single gunshot wound to the right calf and a 15-year-old male had sustained a single gunshot wound to the buttocks.

Record “On This Day” Temperatures Broken From Illinois Heat Wave
