BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Multiple organizations are on the ground to help people who lost their homes because of the Park Fire burning in Butte, Tehama, Shasta and Plumas counties.

This includes EmergencyRV, which links RV owners with people needing shelter.

The non-profit started during the Camp Fire back in 2018.

Program founder, Woody Faircloth, said he's already hearing requests for RV's from people dealing with the aftermath of the Park Fire.

"We're starting to hear from families and also from people who want to help," said Faircloth. "We had a man donate his trailer yesterday to start that process."

Faircloth said since they started back in 2018 they've been able to help more than 150 people find RVs while they get back on their feet.

"80 percent of them end up donating it back to us or donating it to a neighbor who needs a place to stay," said Faircloth.

Faircloth said he finds people tend to have RVs sitting around unused at their homes, leading him to creating the organization.

"I'm convinced if you see an RV parked on the side of someone's house there's usually one person saying 'get rid of it' and another saying they can get 20 grand for it. But with this tax deduction everyone wins," he said.
