Sparta football aims to keep playoff streak going in 2024 | State of the Program
An early-season slide to begin last season slowed Sparta, but the Spartans finished the year as a championship contender once again. Sparta lost to a division opponent for the first time in several years to begin last season, falling to Lakeland to end a 36-game winning streak within the division. The Spartans continued to struggle after that, crawling to a 1-5 record by mid-October.

The message from Rahim Huland El has been simple: Keep the train moving. For the last six years, Huland El has been an assistant coach for the Morris Catholic girls basketball program. He’s helped the Crusaders become one of the top girls basketball teams in the state and in the country in his role as an assistant.

Saturday morning, July 13, was forecasted to be a washout. Rain was expected for the entire morning with a chance of clearing up in the afternoon. With 112 teams signed up to participate in the third annual Timmy Klein Beach Volleyball Tournament, the decision was made to power through — this tournament would be held rain or shine. When those first serves went up at 10 a.m., it was dry and for the rest of the day, there was nothing more than a refreshing sprinkle. This amazing new Rockaway tradition, honoring Timmy Klein, a hero who gave his life fighting a fire almost two and a half years ago, was underway without a hitch.
