MAN ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER ON INDIANA AVENUE
(Richmond, IN)--A Richmond man has been jailed on an attempted murder charge. 43-year-old Bryan Orr was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon on Indiana Avenue. According to public records, a warrant had been issued for Orr’s arrest for attempted murder and domestic battery, although what led to those charges has not yet become available. Orr was also allegedly in possession of cocaine at the time of his arrest Tuesday. Orr was on the other side of an attack in 2019. He was shot in the chest on Sheridan Street.

PARENTS CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH DEATH OF THREE-MONTH-OLD BABY
(Richmond, IN)--The parents of a three-month-old baby who died in February are now accused of causing the little girl’s death. Nathaniel Ray and Kira McKee were charged this week in Wayne Superior Court II with neglect of a dependent resulting in death. According to an affidavit, McKee admitted to falling asleep on a couch with the baby laying on her arm. When she awoke, McKee found the baby had been pinned against the back of the couch and was unresponsive. McKee and Ray also admitted to taking Oxycontin and to drinking before falling asleep. An autopsy revealed the baby had also somehow ingested cocaine. Both were being held Wednesday morning on $50,000 bonds.
Prosecutor: Fatal shooting of New Castle man appears to be self-defense
ANDERSON, Ind. — Charges will apparently not be filed in the fatal shooting of a New Castle resident last week in Anderson. According to Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings, 40-year-old Michael P. Piercy approached a man he did not know in downtown Anderson about 10 p.m. on July 8, struck him in the face and took his cell phone.

HENRY COUNTY, Indiana — Police in Henry County made arrests Monday as part of a drug investigation that spanned several months, authorities said.
