Indiana DNR Accepting Applications for Shooting Range Grants
The DNR Shooting Range Grant Program is accepting applications for the development of rifle, handgun, shotgun firing, and archery opportunities for public use. While growing up in southern Indiana, I always looked forward to trips to the shooting range. I started out at just seven years old with a simple single shot .22 rifle, before making my way up to a 12-gauge shotgun around the age of 11. Eventually, I was given the opportunity to fire a few different handguns. The hobby has stuck with me through the years, and I've since become fascinated with old military surplus rifles. I still make regular trips to the shooting range today.

MILWAUKEE ― By the time U.S. Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana took the stage during a prime-time slot at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Tuesday ― also his 45th birthday ― the audience's energy was starting to wear a little thin. But the Indiana delegation was with the Columbia City resident on every word as he sang former President Donald Trump's praises and said President Joe Biden has been "an embarrassment." ...
Anheuser-Busch Donates Drinking Water to Indiana Fire Department
An effort to get more cans of emergency drinking water to local fire departments is underway, thanks to Anheuser-Busch and the National Volunteer Fire Council. Emergency preparedness is something we hear a lot about, particularly around September during National Preparedness Month. The public service announcements and alerts used to roll right over my head, but now, as a married man with a house and several animals, it's something I keep in mind a little more these days. Disasters can happen at any time, as was clearly seen earlier this week when multiple weather hazards hit the area. If you ask me, preparing for disaster is not only an individual responsibility but also a community responsibility.
