Meet This Tiny Unique Chihuahua Looking For Love

(MA) Meet Rosie, an adorable little potato pup who is searching for a family to call her own. This senior Chihuahua lady came into rescue with an untreated urinary tract infection. The reason for her being in rescue was not given, but it is a good thing she was as they were able to begin treatment right away. Once finished with her treatment, the only thing remaining on Rosie's to-do list is to find a family. Though, as soon as that is checked off the list may fill up with tummy rub requests. But that is just a risk you will have to take!

    More Information On Rosie

Rosie is a female Chihuahua senior pup who is approximately 10-years-old mix pup. She has a short coat length which is listed as black in color, though, based on her pictures I would say she also has beige and light brown in her coat. Rosie is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations.

According to the Scituate Animal Shelter, Rosie is a sweet little senior lady who could be considered part chihuahua, part potato, and all love. Even at 10, she enjoys going on walks but also loves just hanging and cuddling with her humans. She could live with anyone as she loves all humans regardless of age, is friendly with other pups, and does fine with cats.

Rosie does have some medical issues that any new family should be aware of. When she came to the rescue, Rosie had a urinary tract infection, which she is currently being treated for. Though the rescue was told she was not housebroken, they suspect that may be just due to the UTI, but as her treatment is still ongoing they can not say for certain.

Additionally, Rosie has a heart murmur, but based on her blood work, there is nothing that needs to be done for it at this time. Any potential owner should however follow up with a vet. Rosie is also on a prescription dog food to help with her old lady joints and has luxating patellas, a common thing in Chihuahuas.

"This little potato girl is an absolute doll. She will make someone looking for a senior companion very happy!" - Scituate Animal Shelter / Petfinder

    How Can You Help Rosie?

If you are interested in adopting Rosie, please visit the Scituate Animal Shelter's adoption page, which can be found here.

Another huge thing you can do to help is consider fostering! There are never enough fosters to meet the demands of all the pups in need. More information on fostering with Scituate Animal Shelter can be found in the fostering section of their official website.

If you cannot adopt or foster, an easy way to help is to share this article or Rosie's Petfinder profiles: www.petfinder.com/dog/rosie
