Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge David Cannon Jr. of Canton has been re-elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the 55,000-member State Bar of Georgia.

    He was installed June 8.

Cannon, a board member since 2002, will continue to serve in the Blue Ridge Circuit, Post One seat on the board, representing Cherokee County.

Cannon earned his law degree from Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1995. He previously served as solicitor general of Cherokee County.

The Board of Governors is the 160-member policymaking authority of the State Bar, with representation from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits. The board holds regular meetings at least four times per year.
