Kase Gibbs Special - Georgia Bureau of Investigation

Kase Gibbs, a resident of Canton, was recently promoted to Supervisory Criminal Intelligence Analyst of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Georgia Information Sharing and Analysis Center Watchdesk.

Gibbs will be responsible for supervision of the staff assigned to the Watchdesk, which serves as a single point of access for the collection, analysis and dissemination of tips and leads concerning emerging, imminent or existing threats, and other criminal activity affecting the state of Georgia, the GBI announced.

The Watchdesk operates 24/7 and is staffed by criminal intelligence analysts who process requests and tips provided to the GBI. The Watchdesk processes more than 12,000 requests for analytical assistance, criminal intelligence information and investigative support from law enforcement agencies throughout Georgia and the United States each year.

“Kase embodies professionalism and excellence in his work and leadership,” said GBI Director Chris Hosey. “These traits are vital in his new role as Supervisory Criminal Intelligence Analyst of the GISAC Watchdesk. I am confident that Kase is well equipped and prepared to take on this crucial role in leading the Watchdesk team in providing information to the agency and state.”

Gibbs began his career with the GBI in 2018 as a criminal intelligence analyst assigned to the Sex Offender Registry Review Board unit. He then transferred to the GBI-GISAC Watchdesk for two years before being assigned to the GBI Region 8 (Cleveland) field office in 2021.

He graduated from the University of Georgia in 2017 with two Bachelor of Arts degrees: one in criminal justice and one in sociology.

“The GISAC Watchdesk and its personnel are constantly working behind the scenes to protect the citizens of Georgia,” said Investigative Division Director Cynthia Adkins. “As Supervisory Criminal Intelligence Analyst over the GISAC Watchdesk, Kase will oversee this key responsibility. Given his service as a criminal intelligence analyst with the Sex Offender Registry Review Board unit, GISAC Watchdesk, and GBI regional investigative office in Cleveland, I believe that Kase is well prepared and will lead this unit in an exemplary manner”

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation consists of four divisions: the Georgia Crime Information Center, the Crime Laboratory, the Investigative Division and the Legal Division. The GBI has over 900 employees and a current budget of $147,482,036. Gibbs is assigned to the Investigative Division.
