The Dell Rapids 16U baseball team shut out Canton 12-0 on Friday, July 12th. Dell Rapids scored in every inning while holding Canton to just two hits. They got two runs in the first, two in the second, two in the third, and then had a big six-run fourth inning. The game ended on the 10-run rule in the fifth inning.

Post 8 Travels to Sioux Falls to Face West
Another big doubleheader is on tap for Pierre Post 8 as the Eights will travel to Sioux Falls area for the first of three times this week, taking on Sioux Falls West today. The Eights are 6-13 in South Dakota games and are closing in on clinching a spot in the playoffs which will be in a week and a half. Pierre potentially needs just one more win to guarantee a spot in the playoffs this season. However, with still six games remaining, plenty of wins can bring a high quality playoff spot and a better chance at making the state tournament. The Eights face West today, a team above them in the standings sitting at 9-13 in South Dakota games and in ninth place. Pierre faces both West and Brandon Valley in the first two doubleheaders this week, the two teams right above them in the standings as the Eights sit in 11th place.
BAH Black Sox 14U Season Ends in Regions
The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Black Sox 14U team had their season end in the Region 7A tournament on Tuesday, July 16th. The Black Sox fell to Lennox for the second time in the tournament, this time by a score of 7-1. Lennox scored the first five runs of the game. They got three runs in the bottom of the first, one in the second, and one more in the third. Alex Adams scored on a wild pitch in the top of the fourth to make the score 5-1, but Lennox would add a single run in both the fourth and fifth innings for the win.
Augustana Volleyball Honored with AVCA Team Academic Award
LEXINGTON, Ky – The Augustana volleyball team has earned the 2023-24 American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award, the AVCA and INTENT announced Wednesday. This is the eighth year in a row that Augustana has earned this award. The Vikings finished the 2023-24 school year with a cumulative team GPA of 3.86.
