    Pub-sub thieves: Couple accused of stealing sandwiches from Florida Publix

    TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Deputies are searching for two suspects who are accused of snatching a pub-sub over the weekend.

    According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, a couple walked into the Publix on Del Prado Boulevard in Cape Coral on Saturday afternoon. They approached the Deli station, looking for their online order containing two whole turkey subs.

    When they couldn’t find their orders, the Deli Clerk made them new ones, but deputies said they left the store without paying.

    According to the incident report, each sub cost $9.99, bringing the sandwich’s total value to $21.28.

    Security footage captured the couple driving away in a black Ford Explorer around 3:57 p.m.

    Anyone who recognizes the couple or has any information about this incident is asked to contact Lee County deputies at 239-477-1000.
