ST. PETERSBURG, FL - In the uptown district of St. Petersburg, Florida, lies a hidden gem that transports patrons to the enchanting artistry of Paris—the Left Bank Bistro. Stepping into this quaint establishment is similar to embarking on a culinary voyage to the creative heart of France, where every dish tells a story, and every sip of wine is a toast to joie de vivre.
The Artistry of French Cuisine
Located on Dr. MLK St. N, the Left Bank Bistro embodies the essence of French elegance and culinary finesse. Adorned with vintage décor, warm candlelight, and the musical strains of Edith Piaf, the ambiance beckons diners to savor the timeless charm of a Parisian cafe. Snell Isle resident and restaurateur, Susanne Byram, is at the helm of this gastronomic sanctuary.
“One thing we have always had at the forefront of our mind is keeping everything fresh and new to stay current. Anything from a light renovation, to adding our fresh oyster bar and patio improvements as well as updating our menu - - all are designed to keep things interesting and show why we are different from your average restaurant,” shares Susanne Byram.
Combine Byram’s visionary prowess with newly appointed Executive Chef Jermaine Bass, a visionary artist whose culinary creations reflect a deep reverence for tradition and an unwavering commitment to innovation - you’re bound to have a memorable experience at The Left Bank coupled with great cuisine and stellar service.
With a wealth of experience garnered from over two decades of French training, Chef Jermaine Bass brings a fresh perspective to the Left Bank Bistro, infusing classic French dishes with contemporary flair.
Unveiling a Symphony of Flavors
The Left Bank Bistro recently unveiled its revamped menu with a medley of flavors that tantalize the palate. Each week Chef Jermaine creates specials in addition to the regular menu, making the food offerings even more interesting and always fresh. From delicate hors d'oeuvres to hearty entrées and decadent desserts, each dish is a testament to the bountiful bounty of French gastronomy. (Did we mention that Chef Jermaine has a special love of creating decadent, artistic desserts - he has experience as a pastry chef in the dessert room at Bern's Steak House from over 18 years ago!)
Some notable new items on the menu include the Boeuf Bourguignon, a culinary masterpiece that marries bold flavors with exquisite presentation, and the Veal Cordon Bleu - which pays homage to the rich culinary heritage of France. These entrees are complemented by an extensive selection of wines on the newly curated wine menu created to enhance the dining experience.
“When I created the overall concept for the Left Bank Bistro, I always wanted it to be a place where people would love to come, converse, and just hang out in a warm, friendly atmosphere, which is why you will never see a television in our establishment,” said Susanne Byram.
“We’ve had people who have met here by coming to the restaurant regularly who over time have become friends, which makes me happy to see that sense of community here.”
