Two dead in fiery two semi truck collision on I-44 in Oklahoma

Two people were killed in an early morning commercial vehicle crash near Catoosa, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).

The crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. on August 7 on eastbound I-44 at 165th East Avenue.

According to Fox 23 , a UPS truck became disabled due to an airbrake issue.

A second semi truck struck the stalled truck from the rear, resulting in a vehicle fire.

Two people inside the second semi truck died in the crash.

The UPS truck driver suffered minor injuries.

Surveillance video below shows the crash.

According to the Tulsa Fire Department , drivers should expect a long-term closure of eastbound I-44.

The crash remains under investigation.
