Take note because this very moment begins a years-long love story with your new cat. Take a screenshot. Tell your mama. You'll want to remember this.

Each of these guys and gals are available to adopt right now from local Kansas City animal shelters. Just click on the provided links to get in touch with their respective shelters. Don't resist--it's fate.

Jade and Ruby are a couple of precious gems--two strays who were brought in to the Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter by a local woman with a habit of helping cats in need. If you can't tell from the pic, they're youngsters at about nine months old.

    Here's Jade:

Jade loves pats on the head and any toy that makes noise.

Ruby is a fan of string toys and really likes being pet around her tail. Both cats aren't fans of being picked up. They'd be great with dogs and other cats but would be best in a home without small children.

Both will need a slow introduction, and it will take some time before you earn their trust. Once they do warm up to you though, you'll have a couple of friendly, sweet kitties on your hands.

They wouldn't necessarily have to be adopted together if you're interested but only can take on one of them. However, it would be great if they could stay together forever.

You can learn more about these two by filling out FOPAS's pre-adoption application here. Filling it out doesn't obligate you to anything.

    Delphine

Delphine, from Cats Pawjamas, is an adorable calico who is loving the kitten lifestyle--playing hard and sleeping harder. She gets along great with other cats and dogs too. She'd love a home where she'll have lots of friends to play with, whether those are animal friends or pals of the human variety. And did you see how adorable she is?

    Puddin

Puddin's last home didn't work out for her because Puddin doesn't play well with others. Other cats at least. She's great with people though. If you're looking for a cat you can pamper, then Puddin just might be the one for you. This eight-year-old beauty loves running water (a cat fountain will be a must) and can be picky about her food. This one likes variety. She's also a bit of a chatterbox. Other cats might say "meow, meow, meow," but this one says, "me, me, me." She's kind of self-centered and wants your attention, but will pay back all the love you give her, two-fold. You can learn more about Puddin here.

    Simone

Last but not least, we have Simone from Meowy Matchmakers. Other cats are jealous of Simone because being a chubby part-Siamese means she's got some record-breaking cuteness going on. She's a real people person too and loves cuddling with her human pals, squeaking and squawking for belly rubs.

Simone gets along with other cats--it sounds like she likes to be the boss though. She does have a chronic condition that requires eye drops. They're real easy to administer, and the hassle is a small price to pay for such an adorable pal. You can learn more about Simone here. Here's another pic of Simone for the road:
