Five great cats that want keys to your house

    User-posted content

Do you hear knocking at your door? Is that a faint meow coming from your front stoop? No, it's coming from inside the house.

Don't worry. That's just the sound of this article nudging you to consider adopting one of these cats. All of these guys are ready and waiting for you at local Kansas City animal shelters. Just use the link to find out more information about them and to get in touch with their local shelters.

Speaking of which, let's give it up for our Kansas City animal shelters. Without them many of these cats would be outside in this rainy weather.

    Paloma

It's always sad to see a cat hanging out in their litter box, a clear sign of distress. A new arrival when this photo was taken, hopefully Paloma is a little more comfortable now that she's spent some time at her temporary home at The Animal Rescue Alliance. Still, she'd love to have a permanent place where she can grow confident enough to strut her stuff.

When she's in a better mood, Palama is a loving girl who loves to chat up her pals. Why not become Paloma's pal and give her the love and shelter that all cats deserve. You can learn more about her here.

    Rascal

Rascal would be one of those cats out in the rain were it not for Great Plains SPCA. This active, friendly boy was brought in by a good samaritan who found him on the side of a busy highway. Rascal is a three-year-old with some big kitten energy. He gets a little excited so he'd be best in a home without young children. It'd also be good for him, and the other cats, if he was the only cat in the house. He's not a big fan of his feline brothers and sisters.

You can learn more about the friendly, rambuctious Rascal here.

    Sabrina

Next up, for all of you witches out there, is Sabrina, who might just be your next familiar. Coming to us from Meowy Matchmakers, Sabrina is a mom who raised her kids and is now ready to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. If you bring this beautiful calico home with you, you'll be forever enchanted by the distinctive "soul patch" on her chin. You can learn more about this magical cat here.

    Davey

Next we have Davey, from the Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter. Despite the name, Davey is female. I'm guessing her full name is Davey Girl Smith. Any wrestling fans out there get that joke? No, it's not funny either way.

A kind couple found Davey limping around the streets and brought her in. Her leg is all better now, so she is free to run around and greet everyone she meets. She is so sweet and affectionate that The Friends of Parkville believe she once had a comfy home to call her own. How she became homeless is a mystery, but now at the shelter, she has a second chance of finding a stable, peaceful life. Maybe she'll find it at your place? If you're interested in learning more about Davey, you can fill out The Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter's pre-adoption application. There is no obligation in doing so.

Are you ready for a powerbomb of cuteness? Here's another pic of Davey.

    Tailor

We're ending with a real sweetheart--Tailor. She's extremely affectionate and will talk your ear off. If you're looking for a quiet cat, she might not be your cup of tea, but otherwise, she checks off a lot of boxes. She gets along smashingly with other cats. She's a total purr factory, a very happy cat, and she has never met a cat, or a human for that matter, that she didn't like.

Tailor is a tripod. One of her legs is shorter than the others because of a genetic defect. She gets around fine, even climbs, but will never be much of a jumper. As such, she might be perfect for people who might want a cat but are afraid they'll jump on counters, knock over chachkies from shelves, and things like that. No promises, but she'd certainly be a safer bet than most cats.

Like our other Calico on this list, Sabrina, Tailor is a mom. She's had two litters of kitties, some of which are available to adopt from Cats Pawjamas. You might check in with them about that though--kittens tend to go fast than their mamas. You can learn more about Tailor, and/or ask about her kids, here.

That's it for this week. Want to look at more cats? Check out my profile here. Many of the cats featured on past posts are still available!
