These Kansas City cats will have you doing the zoomies

If you've never heard that term before, "zoomies," A.K.A. "frenetic random action periods," is just when cats and dogs get excited and run around for no particular reason. In my house, zoomies are common after litter box visits, an excellent reason for celebration.

All of these cats are available from local, Kansas City shelters and will have you running around your house, ramming into walls, from sheer joy.

    Jazzy

First up is Jazzy from Great Plains SPCA. Jazzy is a mom who was rescued along with her kittens when they were just a couple of weeks old. Her kids will probably be ready for adoption soon, and Jazzy's job as a mom will be done.

When moms come into the shelter with their kittens, it is usually the mom that is last to go. Cute kittens are hard to resist, but why not switch it up and give Jazzy first dibs?

She's shy right now with all the changes in her life but will be a sweet kitty once she gets settled into a permanent home. Finally, she might not look it from the picture, but Jazzy is a big girl, listed at thirteen pounds. You can learn more about her here.

    LaLa

LaLa is a gray beauty from Meowy Matchmakers. LaLa's two favorite things in this world are laptime and playtime. She could take or leave her pearls. She's a friendly girl, known to follow her favorite people around room-to-room. Wouldn't it be fun to have this furball as a shadow?

For a beautiful, well-rounded cat, LaLa will have you singing for joy. You can learn more about her here.

    Trouble

If you're looking for Trouble, you've found it. This one-year-old black manx from The Animal Rescue Alliance, doesn't live up to his name though. He's is no trouble at all so long as he gets all the love and the food he needs. He loves being held and snuggled so if you love an affectionate cat, Trouble might be the perfect fit. You can learn more about him here.

    Burke

Next is Burke, an orange and white kitten who makes the world his toybox. He'll play with or in anything, including the cat-classic cardboard box. He's also a people lover and loves hanging on his pals' laps, purring the hours away. He's currently being fostered in a house with cats and three dogs, so no worries if you already have pets. You can learn more about Burke here.

This picture is just too cute not to include:

    Leo

Last but not least, I believe Leo is the first bengal cat to ever grace these pages--it is rare that they find themselves homeless. A courtesy posting from the Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter, Leo was found wandering around the streets of the Northland. Leo is about three and is a friendly, vocal guy who isn't shy about letting you know he's hungry. He'd be best in a home with a family who wants to spend ample playtime with him. Bengals are of course known for their energy so get ready for some wildcat antics!

You can learn more about Leo here.

That's it for this week. Want to look at more cats? Check out my profile here. Many of the cats featured on past posts are still available!
