First up, from Cats Pawjamas, is an adorable orange kitten named Poppy. Despite the feminine name, Poppy is a dude cat, but you can always call him "Pops" or change his name entirely. Maybe to "Chuck." He was bottle-fed as a wee one, so he loves people.

Like most kittens, he's just a bundle of energy and lots of fun. He has spent much of his short time on earth around a big dog, so if you have dogs that shouldn't be a problem. He's a great cat for anyone looking for a very social and cute kitten. You can learn more about the Popinator here.

    Johnny Ramone

If you're looking for a kitten that's a little more punk rock, Johnny Ramone might be the one for you. He's a little slow to warm up to people, but once he does, he's as sweet as can be. In fact, he's so sweet that he's a favorite around The Animal Rescue Alliance. I'm sure his departure will be bitter sweet for them, but for you? Just sweet, like neopolitan ice cream.

He's known to spend his naptime on his favorite people, wherever he can fit on them, whether that's on their lap, their chest, or even their neck. He's a good pick for anyone who wants a playful, cuddly kitten who also has, or wants, a second cat that Johnny can hang with. Providing a cat with another cat to pal around with is often a good idea, especially with kittens. If you don't already have another cat at your house, The Animal Rescue Alliance would be thrilled to match you with his very own Joey Ramone.

    Robin

If you're looking for a tortoiseshell, Meowy Matchmakers has you covered. They seem to be overflowing with torties right now. From kitten torties to old lady torties, they've got all their torty boxes checked. Robin here is by no means an old cat, but she is an adult. She's a young mom who has raised her litter and is now ready to live the good life, which, for her, mainly means laying around the house. Sounds nice.

She's an affectionate girl who loves nothing more than licking up some churu treats and soaking up plenty of pets. She's great with other animals and would love to go to a home where she has both people and another cat or two to love.

    Colin

Colin could be one of TWO kittens in your life soon.Photo byGreat Plains SPCA

From now until July 21st, Great Plains SPCA has buy one get one free kittens! Getting a bargain might not be the best reason to get a new pet, but hey, if you're looking for a couple of kittens anyway, you're in luck this weekend.

One of those kittens at Great Plains is Colin, a cute-as-a-button tuxedo who loves his playtime, as kittens often do. Also, like other kittens, he'll want someone who has the patience and the time to show him how a gentleman cat behaves--one must be civilized to wear that tuxedo after all. You can learn more about Colin here.

    Wafflehouse

This Wafflehouse won't give you indigestion.Photo byThe Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter

Last but not least is Wafflehouse, a sweet calico with a funny name. Unfortunately, her back story isn't quite as funny--she was abandoned at a Waffle House with her kittens and was left to survive on her own, eating scraps from the restaurant. She and her kittens were rescued and brought into The Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter. Now she is waiting for you to come in and take her home, so she can trade in her waffle scraps and bacon bits for Fancy Feast and Temptations. I'd actually prefer the waffles and bacon myself.

Wafflehouse is about two years old and would do fine with other animals and kids, with a slow introduction. You can learn more about Wafflehouse by following this link.

That's all for this week. Want to look at more cats? Check out my profile here. Many of the cats featured on past posts are still available!
