One dead after semi truck rear ends second rig in flowing traffic

One truck driver is dead after ramming into the back of a second semi truck early on Sunday morning.

The accident happened on August 18th at around 3:30 a.m. in Interstate 15 near milepost 85 in Iron County, Utah.

According to Fox 13 , two tractor trailers were traveling north on I-15 near milepost 85 when one approached the other from behind. The second semi truck then rear ended the first, which sent it veering off of the road, where it rolled.

The truck driver in the wrecked rig died in the wreck. It is unclear whether the driver in the first truck sustained any injuries.

The accident is still under investigation as officers work to determine why the truck rear ended the other as traffic flowed. No further information has been released.
