Two Lumberjacks Named to Preseason SLC All-Conference Team
Dallas, Texas- The Southland Conference (SLC) announced today the preseason All-Conference teams and the preseason football poll. The Lumberjacks two players named to the preseason All-Conference Southland team were junior wide receiver Kylon Harris and senior cornerback Jeremiah Walker. Harris was voted to the second team All-Conference offensive team and Walker was named second team All-Conference defensive back.
Homicide at 9800 Bruton Road
On July 21, 2024, at about 9:00 PM, Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the 9800 block of Bruton Road. The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived, they found 44-year-old Keeman Bowens shot lying on the ground. Dallas Fire Rescue responded, and Bowens died at the scene. Further investigation identified the suspect as 25-year-old Iyanna Wells.
