CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Residents of a Champaign apartment are displaced after a fire broke out early Tuesday morning. The fire was the second Champaign firefighters had to fight overnight.

The Champaign Fire Department received reports of the fire at a three-story multi-family residence in the 600 block of Crescent Dr. around 3 a.m. They told WCIA reporters on the scene that first responders reported the heavy flames were coming from the second and third balconies. The alarm was upgraded in case assisting agencies needed to be called.
