FRIESLAND, Wis. -- A California man was arrested Friday following a fatal crash north of Friesland.

Columbia County Sheriff's Office Capt. David Clark said the crash occurred at around 9:35 a.m. at the intersection of County Highway M and County Highway E.

A semi, driven by a 24-year-old man from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., allegedly failed to yield to a passenger truck that was traveling east on County Highway E.

The driver of the passenger truck was taken to a hospital where he later died. A passenger in the truck suffered minor injuries. Clark said the driver is believed to have not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The semi driver cooperated with investigators and was arrested. He faces charges of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle.

The name of the driver was not released.
