Bet On Panthers QB To Be a Breakout Star in 2024

Things could not have gone much worse for Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young in 2023. Carolina traded up to get the former Alabama star and hoped he could come in and revitalize the franchise that has struggled for so long.

Instead, the front office failed to build any sort of talent base around him, and his rookie season was a nightmare, with him only throwing for 2,877 yards on the way to a miserable 2-14 record.

But if you are looking for a legit breakout candidate from the 2023 NFL draft class, Young is a great bet, thanks to a change at head coach.

David Canales joins the Panthers as head coach with a track record for turning quarterbacks into stars.

Canales was the quarterbacks coach with the Seattle Seahawks and Geno Smith jumped from 702 passing yards and 5 TD’s in 2021 to 4,282 passing yards and 30 TD’s in 2022.

Canales also worked as the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2023 Baker Mayfield jumped from 850 passing yards and 4 TD’s in 2022 to 4,044 a year later.
