1 killed, 3 hurt in west Charlotte shooting, CMPD says

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide after four people were shot Monday night.

1 dead after shooting in north Charlotte

Paramedics were called to Parker Drive off Remount Road in west Charlotte at about 8:30 p.m.

The shooting appeared to stem from a drug deal, CMPD said in an update.

Lamarcus Jackson, 29, was killed, police said Tuesday. One had critical injuries, and two had non-life-threatening injuries. One of the victims with non-life-threatening injuries was a juvenile, police said.

There were multiple shooters.

CMPD has not released any more information regarding this homicide case.

This was the third homicide that CMPD investigated on Monday.

Detectives were called to Rea Road near Piper Glen in Ballantyne at about 5:30 a.m. after a shooting. as Derrick Byas, 36, was killed.

About 12 hours later, another deadly shooting happened on Cinnabay Drive off West W.T. Harris Boulevard.

No additional details have been made available.
