    Man who smashed NoDa eatery windows ahead of drag brunch sentenced: DA

    NODA (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A man accused of smashing the window of a NoDa eatery shortly before they were set to host a major drag brunch event has been convicted and sentenced, the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday.

    Anthony Harris, 56, was convicted and sentenced to at least four years after pleading guilty to two counts of felony attempted breaking and entering and one county of felony breaking and entering.

    Officers responded to calls regarding the incident at Artisan’s Palat in September of 2023. An initial investigation stated that a brick was thrown through the window and a crate of liquor was stolen.

    Artisan’s Palate was set to host a big drag brunch event the following day, they had posted at the time of the incident on Instagram .

    Harris was arrested the day after the incident.

    Judge Strickland presided over the case.
