Charlotte native Cierra Burdick wins Olympic bronze medal with Team USA

Charlotte native Cierra Burdick is an Olympic medalist.

Driving the news: The Butler High alumna won bronze with Team USA in women's 3x3 basketball Monday. They beat Canada 16-13 in the medal round.

What she's saying: "This is something I will be able to tell my family for years," Burdick said.

• She added she is so "grateful to go home with some hardware."

Catch up quick: Burdick played in college at Tennessee and went on to play professionally in the WNBA and internationally. She has won seven gold medals with USA Basketball. This was her first Olympic medal and it came in her first Olympic games.
